I’m a 4th grade classroom teacher who loves teaching. I’ve been teaching for 23 years, starting as a special education teacher before transitioning into the regular classroom. I have a passion for engaging in reflective practice in order to excel as a teacher, and I believe that to be a teacher means you never stop learning. I guess what I like to do most is continually learn new and better ways to teach children and share those ideas with other educators.
I make no claims to being an expert. That’s not what this blog is about. I deeply respect the knowledge, wisdom, and gifts other teachers bring to the education profession. This blog is one teacher’s journey to pursuing excellence through reflective practice…and sharing that journey with others. My goal is to encourage and empower other teachers to achieve excellence in the classroom. I’m certainly not the only reflective educator – anyone who reflects deeply, continuously about their instructional practices in order to improve student learning is also a reflective educator. It’s about the learning.
