It didn’t take but just a few days into the new school year before some students began having difficulty with…remembering. Yep. Of course, communicating with several people (or sometimes even just one person!) can be a challenge. I’ve found that relying on just one method of communication is a sure way to not get your message out. You need multiple ways of sharing your information, and you need to do it over and over…and over… 🙂
Simple but Effective
Aside from the usual means of sharing information with families – newsletter, website, email, and don’t forget the Remind app – there’s one more way that is so simple it’s often overlooked. Reminder bracelets can be an effective way to quickly remind families about special events. Picture Day, field trips, class parties, and special projects can sneak up on even the most organized of parents. Wrapping these simple reminder bracelets around a student’s wrist is a surprisingly reliable means of communication.
Grab Their Attention
You can copy the pattern onto colored paper and write your message with a black marker. Colored paper can be expensive, so if you want to make your copies on regular ol’ white paper, just use a brightly colored marker to get attention.
Reminder Bracelets ~ Free PDF
Have a whole class you need to remind? Write the same message on a sheet of ten bracelets before making your copies. A simple text box inserted in the PDF will do the job. Reminder bracelets are easy enough to make, too. I created mine in PowerPoint using a table. I added a small graphic and some text and was hitting print within minutes. Don’t have time for yet another thing on your to-do list? No worries. You can have mine for free by clicking on the link below:
